Health care services at Miller Memorial Community are part of a continuum of care based on the model of person-centered caring to assure the highest level of independence possible.

Miller is a founding member of the Connecticut Culture Change Coalition, which is a coalition of leading nursing homes and stakeholders who want to improve the quality of life in Connecticut nursing homes by transforming the traditional hospital model to a person-centered model of caring. For instance, our residents at Miller reside in neighborhoods not clinical "units".

Miller's commitment to the person-centered care model recognizes and builds on the relationship between the resident and the aide by implementing primary assignments, so our residents have the same aides each shift thus building a meaningful relationship between the resident and the aide. Through this relationship the resident is empowered to direct their care, lifestyle and needs based on their own personal preferences.

Skilled Nursing, a licensed, certified unit for long-term needs, is available at Miller. Skilled nursing at Miller has built its reputation on respect for the dignity of each resident and the staff's compassionate care.

The Center for Orthopedic and Rehabilitative Excellence specializes in orthopedic and surgical rehabilitation for older adults following procedures like knee and hip replacement and those recovering from heart attack or stroke.

Outpatient rehabilitation therapy is now open to the public. You can get the same excellent care our residents and patients receive without having an inpatient stay. Call today to schedule your evaluation (203)237-8815 ext 331.
